What's in a name?
Why Jehana
The name Jehana was born from my middle name Jehan. This an Arabic name, and was given to me by mother who was reading the autobiography by the amazing woman Jehan Al Sadat while she was pregnant with me.
Jehan Al Sadat
Jehan was the First Lady of Egypt from 1970 to 1981, when her husband Anwar (President of Egypt) was assassinated.

She was notably a human rights activist, who greatly influenced human rights and the country's civil rights legislation. Laws that came to be known as the "Jehan Laws" gave women in Egypt new rights. She also campaigned on issues surrounding child welfare.

Pay it forward
My mum proudly gave me the middle name Jehan, as she represented the strong, empowered, kind and generous woman that my mum aspired me to be.
I've been so proud to carry the name and it's been very special to me all my life. Jehan's great work absolutely resonates with the path of Yoga, and their are so many synergies with how a Yogi tries to live their life, both on and off the mat.
